Leonello, Vittorio, Lucia and Paolo have been the soul of the Letrari estate since 1976. Not only do they make quality sparkling wine but also still wines, for a total of 20 or so labels. Leonello, who prefers to be called ‘Nello’, has so far turned out 57 vintages, more or less, and is considered one of the fathers of sparkling wine in the Trentino area. Lucia, an enologist like her father, is responsible for each phase of production, from the vineyards to the winery to marketing the brand. This is a blend of Chardonnay (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%) that is fermented in steel and after tirage sits on the lees for 48 months.
The bubbly stands out for its preciosity and strength which are already evident in its bright golden color and delicate and persistent bead. Both the aroma and flavor are distinguished by the incredible opulence, clearness ad intensity of their sensations. Upheld by the minerality, there are notes of toasted hazelnut, white chocolate, pan brioche, candied fruit, blood orange and bergamot, apple, lime and acacia. The mouthfeel is fresh and savory, softly balanced. This bubbly is rich and sinuous, structured with persistence and potential to burn. A Trentodoc of feminine expertise and excellent expression.
