The product of an organic project begun in 2011 in Verneuil, a village in the heart of the Marne Valley, with a vineyard with wide-spaced and grassy rows of vines where the only fertilizers used are biodynamic ones made with horse and sheep manure together with poplar bark and shavings. Like all Lanson champagne, this cuvée is composed for the most part of Pinot Noir which represents 50% of the blend that is 30% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay. The wine sits on the lees for three years before being given a dosage of 6g/l, which is perfectly in line with the ripeness of the grapes while the freshness is reinforced by not allowing the wine to undergo malolactic fermentation.
In the glass this has a straw color with golden reflections and a creamy and fine effervescence while the aroma is distinguished by the harmony between its fullness and fresh vitality. In the bouquet are notes of ripe yellow grapefruit, crunchy prunes, pineapple and papaya along with those of laurel and verbena on a background of delicate oriental spice and hints of linden honey. The mouthfeel is both soft and vibrant, pure and lively but with a fruity softness of apricot and a citrusy finish with an iodine and marine note, while vertical tensions give an extremely pleasing dynamic without any heaviness.
AB is in the label to certify that it is AGRICULTURE BIOLOGIQUE along with its biodynamic certification ECOCERT BIO-FR-01.
