Extra Age Blanc de Blancs is a multi-vintage blend of only three harvests – 2004, 2005 and 2006 – which the Maison considered to be exceptional for their Grand and Premier Cru Chardonnay from Avize, Cramant, Oiry, Oger and Le Mesnil sur Oger. This version was disgorged in July 2017 with a 6g/l dosage and is a very elegant and creamy Champagne that was made in stainless steel without malolactic fermentation in order to preserve its great freshness and enhance its propensity to age.
The wine has a golden color and a very fine effervescence with a bouquet based on dried fruit and juicy citrus, with notes of candied lime, lemon blossom, white peach, Valencia orange juice and almond paste on a background of fresh brioche. The mouthfeel is willowy and flavorful with a vibrant and joyous freshness and a persistence in the finish that oscillates between notes of iodine and toasted almond.
