Made from Bordò (Grenache) grapes, the wine matures in barriques for a total of 18 months: the first nine months were in new wood after which it was transferred into other new-wood barriques for another nine months (200% new wood!). It has a pale red color and the bouquet is fascinating thanks to its complexity and the definition of its aromas (myrtle, aromatic herbs, orange peel and spice) but this is only a prelude to a mouthfeel that will leave your thunderstruck with its finesse, tension and the depth of its grip. The longer it breathes in the glass the more these characteristics are exalted and become consistent. The distention of the mouthfeel is energetic yet caressing, the tannins are pure silk and the finish is simply endless and extremely fresh. While still young, this wine is among the best I’ve tasted of late. Unfortunately, only 500 bottles were produced.
