Vintage 2013 was, in our view, a milestone year for Verdicchio that playes on its acidity. While it is true that this was not a great year for wines focused on volume and warmth– even the more famous ones – it is also true that those opting for a subtraction style obtained impressive results. This wine is a case in point. The Reserve is ‘green’ in regard to both color and aromas which are very fresh with a pure note of lime at the center surrounded by sensations of turmeric. The mouthfeel is broad and ‘squared’ like a top quality Verdicchio Riserva should be while maintaining an amazing freshness with an explosion of salt and juices. The finish in unstoppable. This will be best between 2020 and 2035 at least.
