Made from 100% Glera grapes from Grave di Stecca, an ancient vineyard they have owned since 1990 and that is next to the 18th century Villa in Barberina, the Relais hotel the Franco family has near Valdobbiadene. The vineyard is cultivated using sustainable methods and sits at a lower altitude that others in the area, which are typically high and steep. It has a special terroir that gives personality to the wine. In fact, this Prosecco, created using the Charmat method, stands out for its freshness and originality.
Being so different from other wines in its category, the wine is marketed as a Brut Vino Spumante and not as a Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. The bouquet has a nice intensity with scents of sage and dried fruit, while the mouthfeel has a nice body and is particularly dry, with a low sugar residue. Although dry, it is at the same time soft and wrapping with a pleasingly fruity flavor.
Thanks to its deep body, dryness and the delicate persistence in the finish, this wine is also interesting to drink with meals as well as an aperitif.
