In order to create this vintage (dégorgement in April 2013), the wine spent eight years on the lees. Lanson selected the most expressive wines from Grand Cru vineyards in a blend of 47% Chardonnay and 53% Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay grapes came from the villages of Avize, Cramant, Oger and Le Mesnil sur Oger, while the Pinot Noir was from Ay, Verzenay, Verzy and Bouzy. A dosage of 8g/l maintained the freshness of a vintage that was both splendid and abundant, with full, ripe fruits that had a vivacious acidity. Its pale, golden color is animated by a very delicate effervescence. The aroma is extremely fine and pleasing with scents of peach and elder, Melissa and acacia honey on an almost graphite note in the background. The mouthfeel is dynamic, intriguing, firm and progressive, with fruit notes wrapping around a mineral tension and an extremely precise acidity, which extend with elegance.
