Made from Cabernet Franc with additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and matured for 30 months in barriques and 30 months in large barrels. The wine has a red-garnet color that has a lovely, luminous transparency, a color that is more concentrated than Amarone but not as much as in the past, demonstrating a desire to be less extreme. The aroma has distinct notes of red fruit jam, redcurrant and fox grape along with those of tanned leather and garrigue. The bold mouthfeel is strongly alcoholic with great sensorial redundancies even if decidedly more accessible compared to epic versions of the past, creating unexpected elegance and composure.
