    The color has not been touched by time but is more lucent than that of the 2011. The aroma opens on notes of meat, myrtle and juniper on a background of exceptionally pure currant. The tannins are stratified in the mouthfeel yet maintain an amazing finesse. The finish is profound and persistent with sensations of ground coffee and currant. With breathing emerge notes of dried tomato and resin. This is one of the best Merlot-based wines I have tasted in Italy.
