Made from only Nebbiolo grapes and aged for two years in Slavonian oak barrels. This is clearly a didactic wine with its deep, garnet color and extreme chromatic complexity (including antique pink nuances) that only a great Nebbiolo can have, while the bouquet expresses both the aromas of the varietal (violet and licorice) and the land (iron). In the mouthfeel the rocky tannins and flavors are in abundance and usher in an austere and profound finish that has notes of violet, rhubarb and iron. This vintage has at least 15 years ahead of it but is already a marvel. The quality/price ratio is superb.
