Made from Barbera grapes and matured for a year in large wood barrels. The wine has an opaque ruby-violet color with a grapey aroma and typically bitter scents of Marasca cherry surrounded by notes of juniper. The mouthfeel has unexpected volume and is dominated by the tannins and the acidity while at the center of the mouth there are sensations of bitter fruit and the finish is broad and fresh with notes of licorice. Excellent with a meal from beginning to end.
