A blend of 45% Corvina, 45% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta from the Fieramonte vineyard in Mazzurega di Fumane di Valpolicella that sits at an altitude of around 420m above sea level. After the grapes have raisinated, the wine is made and matures in barriques for 48 months to then age two years in the bottle. It has a bold, purple-ruby color and an intense aroma of ripe fruit and spice, black cherry preserved in alcohol, nutmeg, prune and cloves, with hints of dark chocolate on a balsamic background. The mouthfeel is bold and warm, balanced and elegant, with a great structure and surprisingly fresh, balsamic finish. Despite its alcohol content of 16.5% and sugar residue of 6g, this is a velvety drop that goes down smoothly. Some 5,000 bottles and 600 magnums were produced.
