To some extent, this pays the price for coming after the 2005: it is the result of a rather hot – and therefore less complex and nuanced - year than the previous wine. Its colour is an intense, moderately concentrated garnet. Its nose is dominated by a slightly penetrating ethereal, alcoholic note, alongside fruity hints of sour cherries, blackcurrants and raspberries. It is less spicy than in other vintages. The flavour is deep and full-bodied, fairly soft and rich in glycerine. The finish is warming and shows good persistence.
