One of the expressions which Primitivo di Maduria is able to give is 'Dolce Naturale' (Naturally Sweet), the result of a late grape harvest. Gianfranco Fino, who is a totally mad winemaker, in this year alone produced a 'Dolce Natural' the way he wanted, one without compromises. From 1.3 hectares of Meschinella vines (some 60 years old) he harvested, in the latter part of September, only nine tonnes of grapes. From this he produced just two barrels of wine: 1,200 little bottles of 375 cl. These contain a wine which is very alcoholic, perfumed, with a wide variety of scents and is easy to drink thanks to a pronounced tartness. It's now almost impossible to find, so if you run across it, grab it fast.
