It is amazing how the color remains intact even 20 years after it was made. Cos d’Estournel’s is one of the longest living wines in the world and I have had the fortune of having sampled some that were over a 100 years old and were still good. The aromas are profound and stratified and the note that stands out the most is that of pipe tobacco, which is the wine’s trademark. This is followed by notes of leather, hawthorn and berries. The mouthfeel is taut, fresh and the tannins are gushing.
