A Chardonnay with a very luminous, golden color. The aroma is an explosion of sensations but it’s the geyser-like minerality that dominates, an authentic trademark for the producer of what is considered to be the greatest and most expensive white wine in the world and who even in years which may ‘appear’ to be difficult can turnout a masterpiece. Although specialized in producing Meursault, with this small parcel has lifted the fame of Corton to legendary status with this wine that is off the charts when it comes to boldness united with elegance. The bouquet is extraordinarily complex, difficult to describe with its painful intensity. The intensely mineral notes sit on a vegetal background with distant sulfur, spicy and oriental sensations. The distinct mouthfeel is strong, vigorous and saturating. An experience of a lifetime and being so difficult to find its represents a sensorial Holy Grail.
Rating: 99/100 (pay no attention to the rating when it came out, after 20 years this is on another planet).
