An opaque, dark ruby garnet color with aromas of laurel, sweet licorice and mint that seem to bleed together and lose clarity. The acidity is vitreous and the tannins are typically hard for a 1993 while the center of the mouth is quite fruity to then diminish somewhat in the finish. With breathing emerge sensations of pipe tobacco and sandalwood. A pure, Tuscan wine with the floral characteristics that all the greatest wines, no matter what the grape variety, have in this blessed area. All things considered, this is a wine that even those who are not fans of the grape would like.
