A red made from Gaglioppo grapes that ages in stainless steel and has a transparent, ruby-red color. The nose is initially contracted but the bouquet quickly opens with typical aromas of overturned earth, bark and rust. With breathing the aroma become more cordial with notes of violet and reveals the ‘old-style’ nature of Cirò with sensations of tamarind and iron. The attack of the mouthfeel is acidic but offset by a touch of sweetness which is almost unnoticeable, while at the center of the mouth the acidity is held in check by dry tannins that are almost dusty. The finish has an average intensity with notes of violet, bark and rust and the only defect are the tannins that are a quite rustic. Consuming this with a meal helps a lot and the price is unbelievable.
