A luminous, golden color with green reflections and an aroma with a sharp, acute and intense attack. The mineral streak is almost aggressive and not at all suffused and in the bouquet the light, smoky note do not interfere but exalt the other smoky sensations that accompany those of medlar and pine needles that make the aroma uniquely balsamic. 2004 was a controversial year for red Burgundies while the whites today are exhilarating. The extraordinary mouthfeel does not have fleshy notes one would expect but ones that are fine and elegant with an almost absolute balance and an acidity that engages your taste buds without attacking them, cleansing them and offering an almost unnatural freshness. A wine that is as sumptuous as can be.
