A bold, rich and still extremely young Chambertin, the product of a decidedly warmer season. The garnet color here is bright yet more intense and the aromas are wrapping, almost ethereal, with notes of berries overlapping with those of jam while those of rose seem almost candied. All this is on an evident spicy background which brings the Mediterranean to mind, a side effect of the hot weather. The mouthfeel is tannic, bold and almost muscular. A grand version, one that needs to age at least a decade in the cellar.
