A cool and fairly rainy season produced a rather faint Chambertin for a wine which has always been one of the boldest from the Grand Cru of Cote de Nuits. The color is a very lovely, luminous ruby while the complexity of the bouquet is discreet, perhaps more dominated by floral, slightly vegetal notes even if the typical scents of wild berries and the classic aromatic ones are clear and distinguishable. The mouthfeel is a little diluted and the excellent acidic component is only in part upheld by the structure.
