Made from Moscatello di Castglione grapes that raisinate for some ten days and are vinified in reduction (in part with pre-fermentation maceration) to then age in small oak barrels and stainless steel. The quality of the wine is already evident by its lucent, golden color filled with clear orange reflections. The bouquet is very clear with a central aroma of candied apricot that with breathing expands to include ginger, sweet licorice and bicarbonate. The attack of the mouthfeel is between semi-sweet and sweet and becomes very fruity at the center of the mouth but what really stands out is the finish where the wine – as opposed to many Moscato from hot climates – not only does not dry nor lose its agility but expands to include a note of pineapple and almond paste. This should age well but is already now an authentic treat.
