A difficult year in which it was necessary to make a drastic selection of grapes. However, what grapes did make to the winery were rich and ripe. In fact, the color of this wine is different from the others, a lovely, very distinct, bright golden-amber with orange reflections. There is nothing static in the palate (in fact, it is a dance of flavors and dried flowers, cola and musk on a background of great sweetness) and no heaviness in the mouthfeel. The attack is robust, with distinct malt at the center, controlled bitterness and a ‘dark’ finish of licorice and cola, with citrus in the persistence. A big wine. Some may have liked it less than me. Great at the table.
