Skerk, Malvasia in bucce (2): la degustazione

After our long chat (published yesterday) with Sandi Skerk now it is time to look at his wines, more precisely one wine, Malvasia del Carso DOC. We tasted five vintages starting with 2011 and working down year by year to 2008, after which we jumped down to 2003 for the finish.
Before getting started a few suggestions in regard to pairing. After several experiments, my advice is to drink this wine with vegetarian dishes or those dominated by vegetable components. Vegetables that tend to be a bit bitter, for example, tend to bring out the ‘peel/aromatic’ character of the wine. And be sure not to drink it below 14°C.
All the following wines are 100% Malvasia Istriana.
