A severe and very rainy winter was followed by a hot spring and a regular summer which led to an early harvest for all varieties, making 2011 the earliest in Caiarossa’s short history. In the glass the wine has a ruby-purple color and the bouquet is an explosion of fruity aromas the freshness of which are underscored by a note of pink grapefruit and blood orange. The spice component is less pronounced but evident with a touch of graphite. The mouthfeel is tasty, the tannins thick and wrapping and the progression is good and it leads to a nice, fruity finish.
