A Sangiovese that ages in 25-hl barrels for almost 36 months and which is a homage to Mazzocca who sold this estate a couple of years ago. This is an excellent wine, perhaps the best the estate has ever produced. It has a ruby color with bright garnet reflections and a rigorous aroma with classic floral notes that then shift towards those of yellow fruit before returning to the essential scents of Montalcino, sour and Marasca cherries. The mouthfeel is rich, progressive and elegant with polished tannins and a consistent texture that create a great, slightly salty finish with an excellent persistence.
