Bosan 2003

This was a notoriously hot year and the vintage was going to be skipped, as occurred in 2002 and 1991. Nevertheless, the wine was produced and the result was a vintage that was more tired than the others with more evolved aromas and stronger tannins. The Corvina grapes particularly suffered from the heat and in Valpolicella the vines were trained on pergolas to give greater shade to the grapes. For sure, this was a less convincing vintage than the other years tasted but what stood out was the capacity of a winery to produce a wine with tamed tannins and a nice acidity from grapes that had suffered as much as these did.
