Nicola Balter, the owner and enologist of this winery in Rovereto, knows what he is doing. He produces a lot of wines from indigenous and international grapes along with these three, very special and almost model Trentodoc. The 10 hectares of vineyards have been in the Balter family since 1872 are still surrounded by the original stone walls. The Brut Rosé is the baby of the family with 3,000 bottles made from only Pinot Noir grapes. The wine is a homage to the grape and a gift to the palate. It ferments in both steel and wood and is bottled in the sport to then sit at least 30 months on the lees. The color is a blend of pale rose and coral pink with a delicate and endless bead. The aroma stands out for its complexity and personality and it leads off with a mineral note and one of baked bread. This is followed by nuances of magnolia and gorse, myrtle berry and juniper leaf, cherry and strawberry, Annurca apple and bergamot, marzipan and walnut. The mouthfeel has an intriguing body and a soft flavor that is nicely balanced by the acidity with a long aftertaste.
