A 100% Sangiovese wine that ages 16-18 months in new, French oak barriques. A great classic from a year that has produced some outstanding Nobile wines. This has a dense, dark and intact color and a rigorous bouquet with scents of dark flowers along with the classic notes of red fruits and dark berries like blackberry and blueberry. There is also a very elegant, smoked and spicy note that is perceivable but not invasive. The mouthfeel has a distinct attack with a wonderful progression with tapered and youthful tannins and an unexpected freshness. The persistence is also excellent and light balsamic and fruity notes return in the aftertaste. This wine is by now one of the best in Italy.
