If a 16-year-old wine, the product of a hot year, is today as complex and broad as this one we can only thank Federico for the choices he made. Funny thing is he himself continues to criticize some of them: “I could have done something different but I can be satisfied with what I did”. The intense color leans towards ruby while the aroma has notes of cherry and Marasca cherry followed by a touch of cinchona and a balsamic note. The mouthfeel is bold with an energetic, compact attack and excellent follow-through. The tannins are of excellent quality and are integrated into a nice acidity making this an easy-to-drink and rewarding drop despite its intense texture.
