Arcana Cesanese Vino Rosso Biologico 2015

Cesanese is growing in popularity among wine lovers but the grape needs special attention because it is subject to disease and is difficult to harvest when it ripens to perfection. With her exuberance and can-do personality, Claudia Agrifani ensures the grape is cultivated to produce an elegant white. The vines grow in a tuff stone soil and organic methods are followed both in the vineyard and the winery with the use of controlled temperatures and indigenous yeasts.

The wine is not bottled until May of the following year and does not reach the market until after the summer. This 2015 is rustic and vivacious with sensations of sour cherry and raspberry, red currant and fresh fruit and a balsamic touch in the finish that has a pleasing spicy note. The tannins are light but not commonplace and this allows the wine to be consumed even slightly chilled which brings out savory and peppery notes.
