Let us toast together at Christmas

May our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year reach all of you along with some suggestions on which bottles to pop open for your holiday toasts.

And so here we are again – almost unexpectedly – at Christmastime and it is a pleasure for us to wish all our readers our most heartfelt best wishes for the holidays, a peaceful Christmas in the company of those you love and an exciting New Year’s celebration to enter 2020 in the best way possible.

This year we have decided to offer a little surprise along with our best wishes: a practical e-book containing our suggestions on what sparkling wines to enjoy for all your toasts over the coming days. The e-book contains tasting notes of 50 sparkling wines that tickled our taste buds, impressed us with their quality and drinkability. We have subdivided them into five categories composed of the best ten wines of each. The first is Prosecco Superiore, all from the historic DOCG appellation of Conegliano Valdobbiadene. The next two contain the best 10 Franciacorta and 10 Trentodoc, from the most ‘populist” bubbly to the Traditional Method ones that represent luxury and top class. The fourth category includes wines from other territories, including some of historic importance like the upper Langhe and Oltrepò Pavese as well as others that do not immediately come to mind in regard to sparkling wine. The final category is dedicated to sparkling rosé wines from all over Italy and here we have included three traditional method wines that stand out for all being reds and all made from Lambrusco varietals.

All things considered, what we have tried to do is compile a selection to appeal to all tastes and preferences. And we hope that after reading this small book, choosing a bubbly to make your toasts will be child’s play. The ebook is available in Italian only.
