The Chianti area, for us passionate wine lovers, is recurring travel destination territory. If you go for wineries in the Castelnuovo Berardenga area, just a short walk from the Azienda Vinicola Felsina, you will find precisely the Taverna della Berardenga.
Cute, clean, simple tavern, divided into several small rooms, furnished in a rustic but elegant and colorful style, will offer you straightforward and very good Tuscan earthy cuisine, made of crostini, bruschetta, various pates, cured meats cheeses, homemade pasta, farmyard animals cooked in the pan or baked, tartare, of course majestic grilled meats, wild boar and many field vegetables cooked in different ways. All thanks to Francesca, the tavern's chef for more than 10 years. We happened to be there at the right time of year and so ovoli and porcini mushrooms as if they were raining: in salad, baked, fried and roasted. To close, tarts and house desserts.
The wine list is extensive, with sincere recharges, with many suggestions including by the glass, naturally centered on Chianti but with no shortage of suggestions from outside the region and even foreign.
Kind, down-to-earth, no-nonsense service for an overall bill that can never scare you away.
Open nonstop Tuesday through Saturday, 06 am to 11 pm (take-out for dinner with home delivery possible), Friday only until 6 pm, closed Sunday and Monday.
