I Corti in Prato: all fish

An intimate and well-kept place, linear in its furnishing, where the attention towards the customer is the boss. Particular is the stone wall that belongs to the ancient city walls.

After a visit to the center of Prato and the beautiful Palazzo Imperiale, all you have to do is park in the large Piazza Mercatale and go to try the restaurant of the Corti brothers. 

In the kitchen Lorenzo, after experiences at Cibreo in Florence and Pirana in Prato, has been able to merge his past work in a dry style and guarantees the raw material. In the dining room, on the other hand, there is Marco, a curious and passionate lover of good wine, a sommelier, who knows how to advise on the right pairings that are often not taken for granted.

The environment is dominated by light and the linearity of the furniture, well matched with the elegance and concreteness of the dishes. The interior rooms are characterized by a whole wall made of stone that belongs to the real ancient walls of the city. The restaurant, in the center of Prato, also has a private courtyard where in summer you can enjoy the dishes outside.

Fundamental in the philosophy of the Corti brothers is the research of the raw material, few selected ingredients, cared in the preparation and in the dish. The strong point of the restaurant is definitely the fish, both raw and cooked, always of excellent quality. 

A dish among all those that impressed us the most and that however is not always easy to find, are the "Rossetti" prepared steamed with pea shoots or fried, absolutely heavenly. In both cases the freshness and simplicity of the flavors is disarming.

In general a beautiful culinary experience in the center of the city. The fish is fresh and cooked very well, the presentation of the dishes is very well done, and there are also those details that are always a pleasure: welcome sparkling wine, amuse bouche, and finally, served with coffee, homemade cookies. Do not forget the wine list, wide and interesting.

The restaurant is definitely well run, despite the young age of all the friendly staff.

Open from Tuesday to Friday for lunch and dinner. Saturday dinner. Sunday lunch.
