La Locanda del Falerno by Villa Matilde

Small touristic farmhouse surrounded by a large garden and nestled in the wine-growing and producing area of Villa Matilde in Cellole, near Caserta.

Villa Matilde Avallone is today one of the main producers of quality wines in Campania. Its focus, carried out for almost 60 years, is on the rebirth and promotion of ancient vines and wines, such as the Falerno (the wine that Caesar and Cleopatra used to drink) and the different types of the most important indigenous wines obtained from grapes grown in the beautiful vineyards of the property. 

The winery is located in Cellole (CE), between Rome and Naples, a few minutes away from well-known Lazio and Campania seaside resorts. Guided tours and tastings of the whole range are available to be booked. In September, it is possible to experience the charm of the night harvest witnessing the pick of white grapes located in the hilly vineyards of Sessa Aurunca.

Inside the estate, there is a delightful building that hosts rooms, apartments, large gardens, swimming pool and a restaurant open all year round in which dishes are prepared using exclusively produces grown on the estate. The breakfast features homemade cakes and jams.  

The estate also has a wine cellar and a small spa for the exclusive use of the Torre Falerno suite built in an old renovated silos, spread over three floors, perfect for a couple's stay immerse in the nature and in total relax.
