In the glass this brew has a brown color with evident red reflections and a creamy, ivory and cream-colored head. The attack of the aroma is inebriating, intense, broad and complex and in the nose scents of dried fruit, chocolate, brandy, dates, baked figs, toffee and caramel blend into each other together with those of dried prunes and blueberry. While slightly more ‘severe’ in the mouth, it is nonetheless soft, almost sweet, with a soft and rich carbonation. The mouthfeel is also bold, rich and dense with distinct sensations of malt and the persistence is long, with an aftertaste of medicinal herbs and toasted notes.
This is formidable by itself or, if you prefer, it can be paired with classic Christmas cakes and sweets as well as dried figs, dates and assorted nuts.
