In the glass this has a dark-brown color and a compact and creamy head. The aroma is intense and complex with toasted notes of cacao and coffee that wrap around sensations of spice, bergamot, medicinal herbs, sage and licorice along with the sweetness of toffee. The carbonation is subtle and the mouthfeel is creamy and distinguished by sensations of cacao and coffee while the alcohol is well-disguised by a pleasing and vigorous volume. Never sweet nor redundant, this stout pairs well with main meat dishes like wild-game stew but it is also excellent on a summer’s night with Farindola Pecorino cheese, chestnut honey and coffee powder.
