A dark beer with a compact, hazelnut-colored head with an ivory edge. It has a textbook Porters aroma with straightforward and intense notes of roasted coffee and chocolate powder that give way to scents of Brazil nuts, hazelnut and carob with hints of medicinal herbs that give it a further touch of elegance. The mouthfeel is pleasing, excellently drinkable and refreshing thanks to the alcohol yet remains true to the type of brew with its excellently balanced bitterness. The after-aroma is consistent and the aftertaste is of licorice and cacao.

An Italian pairing would be with semi-aged local pecorino sheep cheese, while an Irish or, in any case, more northern pairing would be with ostra regal oysters or smoked eel.
