Bluebird Bitter is the beer that brought Ian Bradley success. The one we tasted here is not the one on tap in Coniston but a more robust version that maintains the brewery’s style but is made for export. It has a pronounced golden color with amber reflections, a white, compact head and an effervescence that is never over the top. The Bitter has a bouquet of white flowers, malt, ginger and hay and hints of citrus that make it both sunny and almost Mediterranean. The mouthfeel is pleasing, elegantly and delicately bitter, balanced and fresh at the same time with flavors that recall and are consistent with the aroma. Maris Otter and Crystal malts are used as well as Challenger hops.
