Is Bonilli’s legacy lost?

Persa l’eredità di Bonilli?

For some days now it has been impossible to consult Papero Giallo and Gazzetta Gastronomica, respectively the blog and web magazine created by Stefano Bonilli. The blog closed when he died, which was logical given the personal nature of site, however it would be nice to be able to consult its archives, which date back to 2004 when Sefano Bonilli was still the editor at Gambero Rosso. This also in view of the fact that it was the first Italian blog dedicated to food and wine and thus has a value that goes beyond being interesting to read. The Gazzetta, on the other hand, began later and brought together old collaborators from Gambero, like Elisia Menduni and Annalisa Barbagli, as well as the ‘young lions’ of wine and food journalism. Both sites were original, independent initiatives that were of great interest to wine and food critics as well as those who love those subjects. Furthermore, the Gazzetta had more than 12,000 ‘I like’ recommendations, which was not bad at all. Now nothing is accessible. The sites currently request a password which is impossible to find and there is now a real risk of losing a wealth of articles and memories that are very important for our sector. I do not know why all this is happening, keeping everything ‘online’ would not cost much. Thus I appeal to all those who were involved with the two sites to do something or let us know what can be done to keep them accessible. On my part, as well as that of Doctor Wine, there is a readiness to do anything to ensure that Bonilli’s legacy is not lost.
