Wines for summer
Our new paperback guide will be presented during two tastings, one in Rome and the other in Milan, where we hope to see many of you and also hope to know what you think of the work we have been doing.
I hope you’ll forgive me for being self-referential if I tell you about what we will be doing in the coming days. We are coming out with a little book dedicated to Wines for Summer (Vini per l’Estate) and will stage two tasting events to present them. The first will be in Rome, on Saturday, May 21, from 1:30pm to 5:30pm at Caffetteria Massimo, via Giovanni Amendola 6; and the other will be in Milan on Saturday, May 28, from 2:30pm to 7:30pm, at the Hotel Principe di Savoia, in Piazza della Repubblica 17. There will be many excellent wines to taste based on a well-done and interesting selection process. We are doing all this to support Italy’s best winemakers, to offer information, to present some pleasing wines and to offer well-organized events dedicated to those who read our site and to the professional world of wine and food. And also, to be honest, to sell some of our publications. We have staged similar events for years and in different areas of the world. We recently organized tastings in London and Berlin that were a small yet significant success. This is because they were held in cities where similar events are not uncommon and the competition is fierce and where to do things right you need to work long, hard and professionally.
We are now doing this again in two very important Italian cities, in two beautiful and prestigious locations where those who attend will have plenty of time to taste wines and enjoy a lovely afternoon. I hope to see many of you. The ticket price is reasonable and I, myself, will be on hand for you to tell me, for better or worse, what you think of the work we are trying to do.
