Tre Rocche Nicolucci, Sangiovese from Romagna
Fattoria Nicolucci is a winery with a good tradition of high quality wines and produces very good Sangiovese: not only the often awarded Riserva Vigna del Generale, but also the attractive Tre Rocche which has a very good quality/price ratio.
Alessandro Nicolucci is the third generation of his family to make wine and he maintains a very classic style in his wines without any concessions to easy or modern gimmicks.
His wines are austere and reflect the area the where the grapes are grown, upper Predappio, and are thus bold with a finesse not found in the harder wines from the lower altitudes.
