No so Petit…
Julien Baillard is a sizeable family estate in Chablis that has 24 hectares of vineyards including several Premier Cru Chablis ones – Montmains, Vaillons, and Montée de Tonnerre – and three Chablis Grand Cru – Bougros, Blanchot and Preuse. Up until 2013 their wines were sold in bulk but starting with vintage 2014, Elodie, Julien Baillaird’s young granddaughter, and her husband Kevin Van Noort decided to bottle some of their production by themselves. Their Chablis is bold, dry, and chalky and has a distinct personality thanks to a winemaking method that seems tailor-made to exalt the particular terroir.
