Asolo Montelvini

A winery in the Asolo Docg area, it is young and dynamic in management and also offers a Prosecco Docg "with the bottom", according to ancient tradition, veiled and with very low residual sugar.

We have already talked recently about Asolo Prosecco Superiore and how it has its own personality distinct from both Prosecco Doc and its hillside Superiore "brother," Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore.

Today we would like to point out a reality that offers easy and affordable wines, including precisely some Asolo Prosecco. This is Montelvini, owned by the Serena Group, one of the most dynamic wineries in the Prosecco scene and based in Venegazzù, a small hamlet of Montello, in the province of Treviso, in the heart of the DOCG area.

Today it directly cultivates about 35 hectares of property, divided into four estates: Le Zuitere, which surrounds the Montelvini headquarters; Fontana Masorin at an altitude of 300 meters on the Montello ridge; Presa IX, at the foot of the hill; and Vigneto Ritrovato, the ancient vineyard in the center of Asolo.

Armando Serena is joined by his children Alberto, the AD, and Sarah, general director. Montelvini's soul is traditionalist in production systems and modern in management, communication and marketing.

Il Brutto is the Prosecco of tradition, on yeasts, a clear reference to the peasant culture of Treviso and Asolo in particular, unfiltered, with a limited natural presence of sulfites and very little sugar (2 g/lt). The base wine, obtained from the first fermentation, is left to rest for at least six months in steel vats, then bottled for frothing. After at least 90 days it is put on the market, without disgorgement, which is the separation of the residual yeasts that will characterize its cloudy appearance.

100% Glera. Sui lieviti. Non dosato. Paglierino torbido con naso molto aperto e floreale. In particolare fiori bianchi dolci e sentori freschi. La bolla è delicatissima ma piacevole per niente invadente. Il gusto risulta fresco e agrumato. Invita a un secondo sorso.
