A little, big miracle
Cirò was the wine of the Olympics in Magna Graecia, a kind of Champagne in pre-Christians times. Not only that, it was also here along the Ionian coast of Calabria that wine grapes arrived in Italy. And so it is a shame that a wine with such a glorious history and, above all, such a good and distinct wine does not have the notoriety other red jewels from southern Italy, like Gioia del Colle or Taurasi, enjoy.
At the same time, for those who appreciate this wine it is a good thing because it has allowed Cirò to maintain an amazing quality/price ratio. If the region needed a point of reference for production this would be Librandi who year after years sends Cirò to the market that is not only pleasing but also authentically complex. The fact that it costs less than 10 euros is a little, big miracle.
