A homage to De André
The name of this Umbrian rosé from Giampaolo Tabarrini is a homage to the late singer-songwriter Fabrizio De André, who wrote the song the wine is named after, and to love. It is also one to the Sagrantino grape which he already uses for three different and recognizable cru as well as for a Passito dessert wine. Colle Grimadesco was the first Sagrantino Giampaolo made and it was followed by Campo alla Cerqua, the most elegant of the three, and Colle alle Macchie, his boldest wine. This rosé may be more lithe and drinkable but it maintains the energy typical to the estate’s other wines and, above all, Giampaolo himself.
Here Sagrantino acquires a different charm and a pleasing cheerfulness that makes it easy to pair with a nice Caprese salad, best if consumed on the estate’s terrace from where you can feast your eyes on the sunshine, the vineyards and the hills.
