Two Vermentino from Maremma

Pecora Vecchia is one of the Tipa family’s holiday farms and is run by the charismatic and cheerful Maria Astorga Tipa. On the first day of our weekend visit to the family’s vineyards, set between the family’s estates in the heart of Montecucco, in the Tuscan coastal area of Maremma, we tasted two Vermentino wines from their Tenuta di ColleMassari estate. The first was Melacce, a welcoming fresh, tasty and dry wine, while the second was Irisse, which was more structured and soft.
