Salvo Foti, the Etna Rosso Vinupetra and I Vigneri

The Etna 'phenomenon' has a lot to do with Salvo Foti, a real prophet at home. His winery in Randazzo, I Vigneri, makes absolutely fascinating wines, like the Vinupetra 2013.

Salvo Foti is the real prophet of Etna winemaking and his winemaking can be considered heroic. Aften many consultancies, here is an authonomus project, run with the help of his son Simone. Everything is inspired by the respect of the vines, cultivated at extreme altitudes, the are over 70 years old and have ungrafted roots and are planted at a density of 10 thousand plants per hectar. Furthermore there is no use of chemical products in the vineyards nor in the cellar. The result are wines with slight imperfections, really excusable, but with an unforgetteble charm.
