Primitivo Tenuta Chiaromonte for the White House

Donald Trump is a teetotaler but his guests are not and soon they will be enjoying the Primitivo from Tentuta Chiaromonte in Gioia del Colle

When Nicola Chiaromonte received an order for 720, six-bottle cases from the White House he must have thought it was some kind of joke but the order was real. One of the buyers for the presidential residence had tasted the wines produced by his Puglia estate at a dinner organized by the winery’s importer and immediately placed an abundant order: 4,320 bottles split between two of the estate’s wines: Il Mascherone, a Primitivo IGT Puglia del Colle, a simple and easy to drink wine; and Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto, a Primitivo DOC Gioia del Colle, one of the estate’s top wines along with its Primitivo Riserva.

Tenuta Chiaromonte is situated in Gioia del Colle, one of the first areas to receive a DOC classification for Primitivo in Puglia, which was followed by Manduria produced in the province of Taranto. Nicola Chiaromonte likes to amaze and provoke and the organoleptic characteristics of his wines are exasperating but they are not an end to themselves because they contribute to creating unique wines that faithfully relate the way he sees and likes to express his beloved land. Characteristics that will soon amaze Donald Trump’s guests at the White House.
