Nosiola from Eredi Cobelli

Nosiol was the local word for the traditional Nosiola grape, which is becoming increasingly rare but remains much-loved by the Corbelli brothers.
The Eredi (heirs of) Cobelli Aldo are his three sons: Devis, Tiziano and Ivano. They named their estate after their father who died unexpectedly at the start of a harvest. All three are professional artisans: Devis is an agronomist, Tiziano an enologist and Ivano is studying wine at the Istituto Mach di San Michele all’Adige.
They produce five wines but their Nosiol 2016 is truly spectacular. It is a light and “dangerously” drinkable white, only 11% alcohol, but has the personality of a small masterpiece.
The winery is in Sorni di Lavis and next to it is a holiday farm with five guest rooms and a shop where you can buy the wines.
Nosiol 2016 Eredi di Cobelli Aldo
Made from Nosiola grapes. The wine ferments and matures “sur lie” in stainless steel vats for eight months. The color is a clear, yellow-green and the bouquet is extremely clear with precise scents of fresh almond and wild flowers with a hint of flint in the background. The mouthfeel is agile, saline and light giving it a pleasing drinkability with a subtle finish that has surprising persistence. To drink by the bucket.
